Camping on the Via Rhôna
Whether you’re an old hand or a keen beginner, a camping holiday by bike provides the ideal opportunity to go cycling with all the family and to explore the Rhône valley en route. The Via Rhôna runs from Lake Geneva to the shores of the Mediterranean, starting with panoramic views of the Alps, taking in the vineyards of the Côtes du Rhône and southern Provence and finishing with the beaches of the Camargue. 815km long, this cycle route opens up new landscapes every day as it follows the course of the River Rhône.

The Via Rhôna cycle path offers a range of bike rides tailored for family groups and the chance to take a break and try your hand at one of the many water sports activities available along the way. From the shores of Lake Geneva to the Mediterranean Sea you’ll find yourself spoilt for choice with canoeing, kayaking, rowing, windsurfing, catamaraning and jet-skiing all promising a fun and refreshing break en route. Alternatively, a river trip is a great way see this lovely region of France with fresh eyes.

L'itinéraire de la Via Rhôna s'ouvre à vous avec une variété de possibilités de balades adaptées à tous les membres de la famille. Profitez également de votre séjour pour profiter des loisirs et sports nautiques qui vous entourent. Des rives du lac Léman jusqu'aux plages de la Méditerranée, les options sont infinies. Entre canoë-kayak, aviron, planche à voile, catamaran ou encore jet-ski, faites votre choix et offrez-vous une pause sportive et rafraichissante. C'est également l'occasion idéale pour prendre le large et découvrir la région sous un nouvel angle.

Le long de l’itinéraire de la Via Rhôna, différents campings vous attendent. Vous y trouverez un havre de convivialité en pleine nature. De quoi recharger les batteries avant de repartir en selle.
Dès l'étape 8 de votre Via Rhôna, vous pourrez faire étape dans un Flower Camping ! Et pour cause, Jean-Luc vous accueille dans son camping Les Plages de l'Ain à Saint-Maurice-de-Gourdans. Une pause bien méritée dans un écrin de verdure, avant d'attaquer la traversée de Lyon.
À proximité de l’étape 12, c’est Aurélie et Emmanuel qui vous accueillent au camping 4 étoiles La Châtaigneraie. Dans cet écrin de verdure, soyez sûr que vous vous ferez le plein d’énergie. Et pour vous rafraîchir, direction la piscine !
Plus au sud, vous pourrez faire une pause méritée entre l’étape 15 et l’étape 16 chez Célina et Brendon, au camping Les Truffières. C’est entre forêts de chênes truffiers et champs de lavande que vous séjournerez. Un cadre bucolique qui vous donnera sûrement envie de rester quelques jours de plus !
La prochaine étape, entre Lapalud et Caderousse comporte des sections sur route. Mais rassurez-vous, lorsque vous n'êtes pas sur une piste cyclable, les routes empruntées ne sont pas très fréquentées. Proche de l'arrivée de cet étape, Nelly et Sylvain vous attendent dans leur camping à Laudun Le Dolium.
Vous voilà à Avignon, la mer Méditerranée se rapproche et c’est chez Dominique et Thierry au camping Le Pilon d’Agel que vous pourrez faire escale. Délassez-vous dans la grande piscine extérieure et ne manquez pas de découvrir les petits villages pittoresques qui entourent le camping.
La mer Méditerranée est presque là, mais avant ça, il vous reste à découvrir la Camargue, magnifique région entre marais, manades et étendues sauvages. Pour faire une halte, direction le Mas de Mourgues, un camping situé sur l'étape 21, entre Saint-Gilles et Aigues-Mortes.
Avant d’arriver à Montpellier, Delphine et Arnaud vous attendent dans leur camping Fondespierre. Si ce camping s’écarte un peu de l’itinéraire officiel et des étapes 21 et 22, il vous permet de profiter du canal du bas Rhône et des nombreuses caves à proximité. Détendez-vous dans le l’espace aquatique avec toboggan et bains à remous et appréciez l’atmosphère paisible tout en étant à proximité de Montpellier.
