A visit to the Zoo du Lunaret, just 20km from the site. There is free admission to part of the zoo, with a charge for the Amazonian Hothouse only. 11km of footpaths guide you around 200 acres of parkland to observe the 120 species on view at the zoo.

A family day out to see the Manade Vitou de Fontmarie with its characteristic Camargue bulls and cows. Just 500m from the site, discover how these cattle herders live, take a horse-drawn carriage trip and sample the local bull saucisson.

A walk on the Pic Saint-Loup, unmistakeable ridged mountain close to Montpellier. The lands surrounding the Pic Saint-Loup form one of the most renowned wine-growing areas in Languedoc. The more adventurous will appreciate the 2-hour circuit up and down the mountain, offering panoramic views of the surrounding garrigue from the top, not to mention the ruins of a medieval fortress, the Château de Montferrand, en route.
Walking/cycling route
A 2-hour walk from the campsite to see Castries aqueduct. The route runs along the aqueduct for 7km and offers magnificent views of the Château de Castries and water tower.
Driving route
A tour of the Route des Vins de l'Hérault, a 85km circuit leaving from the campsite. Start with a visit to Montpellier, before heading for the Pic Saint-Loup, stopping off at Saint-Mathieu-de-Tréviers and Valflaunès to visit the Domaine de l'Hortus vineyards. Then set a course for the Grotte de Clamouse caves and Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert via the Pont du Diable. Don't miss the chance to try some of the local AOC Languedoc wines including those of the Domaine d'Aupilhac and other full-bodied reds.
