A visit to the Jardin des Doms (20km). These English-style gardens offer panoramic views of the Rhône plain as far as Mont-Ventoux. A veritable haven of cool complete with lake, trees and a population of ducks to delight young and old alike.

A bike ride to the Chapelle Saint-Sixte in Eygalières in the heart of the Chaîne des Alpilles. Sitting alone on top of a hill, this charming little chapel is untouched by the modern world and makes the perfect destination for a ride through the magnificent lavender-filled landscapes of Provence.
Don’t miss
A trip to Avignon in the Vaucluse, where you can stroll through the narrow alleyways of the town and over its famous bridge. Set in the Chaîne des Alpilles, the village of Les Baux-de-Provence is typical of the Bouches-du-Rhône region and surely one of the loveliest in France. A few short kilometres from the site, don’t miss Saint-Rémy-de-Provence and the town of Arles. They offer a typically Provencal atmosphere complete with street markets, canoeing and cycling.
Walking/cycling route
A walk for all the family starting from Saint-Remy-de-Provence offers stunning views of the Baux de Provence valley, passing the ancient settlement of Glanum on your way to the village and the Lac du Peiroou.
Driving route
From the campsite, head towards Les Baux-de-Provence for a jaunt through the Chaîne des Alpilles. Perched on a hill in the foothills of the Alpilles, this charming village has much to offer, not least its architecture and history. Continue to Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, a small town much prized by artists and a great place to admire the stunning landscape of the Alpilles. Along the route a number of wineries in the Coteaux des Baux appellation await your visit.
