Camping in Lozère, between the Cévennes and the Tarn gorges

There’s nothing quite like a camping holiday in Lozère, one of France’s most unspoilt and quietest regions, for relaxing and recharging your batteries in a natural setting. Our campsites in the Cévennes also make a great base for trying some of the outdoor sports and activities made possible by the natural environment, be it walking, cycling or horse riding, white-water rafting or even paragliding from the Causses.

Enjoy an active, outdoor holiday in the Cévennes national park

Famed for its beautiful walking country, the many rivers and hilltops in the area also provide a host of opportunities for the high-octane thrills of hang-gliding and parascending. From the comfort of your campsite in Cevennes national park you can walk the Tarn Gorges towards the source of the River Tarn on Mount Lozère. Then go on to the waterfall at Runes to admire the crystal clear waters and sheer cliffs.

The Cévennes and Grands Causses Natural Parks

Lozère is a wild and stunningly beautiful place where nature still holds sway. It’s no surprise then that it is the most sparsely populated department in France and boasts two national parks, the Cévennes National Park and the Grands Causses Regional Natural Park, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

A campsite in the Cévennes National Park

To the east of our campsites in the Cévennes, the Cévennes National Park stretches from Mount Lozère to the southern edge of the Cévennes, offering truly stunning views over the Lozère, Gard and Ardèche countryside from its highest points.

Camping close to the Grands Causses Regional Natural Park

Heading west from your campsite in the Cévennes, you’ll find the fabulous Causse Méjean and Causse de Sauveterre limestone plateaux extending high above the gorges of the Tarn and Jonte rivers at the gateway to the Aveyron. These spectacular gorges, snaking through the landscape, will simply take your breath away!
