Well worth a visit Nearby Camping Provence Vallée Provence Alpes Côte d'azur
Les Gorges d'Esparron – known locally as the “little gorges” and less visited than the Gorges du Verdon, they are just 25km from the campsite. Take a trip down the gorges in an electric boat, swim, sunbathe and take it easy!
Something different
Le Colorado Provençal – the site of a former ochre quarry, the visually startling landscape and stunning colours are more reminiscent of Colorado than Provence. Well worth a visit.
Don’t miss
The Gorges du Verdon and the Lac de Sainte-Croix. Visit the gorges by car along the Route des Gorges, by electric boat or on foot. But sufferers of vertigo, beware! Moustier Sainte Marie. A charming village full of character and known for its faiences, its picturesque, narrow streets and many fountains.
Walking/cycling route
A visit to the town and citadel of Forcalquier, the Prieuré de Mane and the fascinating rocky landscape of Les Mourres, sculpted by erosion over millennia into a forest of strangely shaped outcrops. The site also offers a fine view of the valley and La Laye reservoir. 2h15 on foot.
Driving route
The Route des Gorges du Verdon
Marvel at the stunning river cliffs plunging to the emerald-green river below from the dizzying height of this breathtaking cliff-top road. Adrenalin junkies can even try a bungee jump! 3 hours.
