The village of Serres with its narrow, history-filled streets offers a number of architectural treats including a 12C Romanesque church and the fine 17C sculpted door of the Mairie.
Don’t miss
The gorges of the Méouge valley offer a rich natural heritage in a superb landscape with a medieval bridge with three arches and the remains of a windmill. Visit Sisteron Citadel and enjoy the best viewpoint in Haute Provence. The cirque at Saint-Genis – a great walking destination between Sisteron and Serres.
Walking/cycling route
Climb the Pas de la Louve on a path which clings to the hillside and view the Buëch valley from above. The route down through Le Bersac amongst the boxes, pines, downy oaks and thyme offers a taste of authentic Provence. An easy family walk along a varied route and a great way to explore the area around Serres.
Driving route
Take a tour of the many villages perched above the neighbouring valleys. Upaix, Ventavon, Le Poët, Antonaves, Lagrand and Saléon are the most characteristic, but there is also Pomet in the commune of Châteauneuf de Chabre as well as Salérans, St Pierre-Avez, Le Vieil Eyguians and Arzeliers in the commune of Laragne.

You’ll find a number of different activities on offer close to Le Domaine des 2 Soleils, whether it’s at Serres on the beaches of the Buëch and Riou rivers or in the Saint Genis gorges. Water sports fans should head out for the La Germanette outdoor activity centre for a spot of canoeing or stand-up paddle boarding. Those with a sense of humour might like to try their hand at water balling – it’s hilarious! All you need for a fun, family holiday.

From landscaped, spring-fed lakes to fast-flowing mountain rivers, you’ll find no shortage of fishing opportunities – all you need do is bring your rod and tackle. You’ll find plenty of trout at Serres on the banks of the River Buëch and in the Saint Genis gorges and if you’re lucky you’ll even be able to take part in one of the activities organised by the local fishing club.
