Well worth a visit Nearby Camping Jas du Moine Provence Alpes Côte d'azur
The citadel of Sisteron overlooks the city, perched high on a rocky outcrop at an altitude of 500 m. From the citadel, you will also have a view of the Durance. The citadel is one of many designed by Vauban, as you will see from its characteristic architecture. Guided tours are organised on-site.
Something different
Thrill-seekers and sports enthusiasts will have the choice between traversing the via ferrata of the Grande Fistoire, descending the Durance by canoe, following the mountain bike circuits of Châteaux-Arnoux and the black earth of Digne-les-Bains, hiking up to the summit of Les Monges or up the mountain of Lure, or even going for a dip in the gorges of the Méouge.
Driving route
To discover Provence, go for a walk in the markets of Digne-les-Bains, Forcalquier or even Laragne-Montéglin. Visit the promenade museum of Digne-les-Bains. You can also take your car and follow the route of the high alpine villages or the “Route du Temps”, a journey through different time periods. For a deep dive into history, go to the Paléogalerie de Salignac. Finally, if you stay in Salignac between the end of June and the beginning of July, don't miss the lavender fields, which will be in full bloom, around the campsite or on the famous Valensole plateau.
