La Flotte en Ré is a typical Atlantic fishing village with narrow, wallflowerlined streets, brightly painted shutters, a port filled with white-sailed boats and a green-capped lighthouse. Close to the star-shaped citadel at St-Martin-de-Ré and just 900 m from the long, sandy Plage de l’Arnérault, the Bel Air makes an ideal base for exploring the island on foot, by bike or by boat.
