Close to the Moëze Oléron Nature Reserve, in Charente Maritime, this wooded campsite promises a family-friendly setting and plenty of things to keep you amused. Close to the coast, it is ideally located for visiting the historic Citadel Brouage, Island Madame, L'Hermione, Arsenal Maritime, the Fouras-les-Bains peninsula and Rochefort Océan spa. On site, you can swim in the pool, sunbathe in the solarium and for the children, do not miss the bouncy castel.

Zoo de la Palmyre & La Rochelle Aquarium

A camping holiday at L’Abri-Côtier provides the ideal occasion for a safari day out with all the family at the Zoo de La Palmyre, home to more than 110 different species of birds and animals. Another must-see attraction in the area is La Rochelle Aquarium, one of the largest in Europe. Immerse yourself in the ocean depths as you explore the sea and all its mysteries – including 600 different species of marine wildlife.

Spa waters of Rochefort

The spa waters of Rochefort flow from an exceptional thermal spring, rich in salt and iron, with recognised therapeutic properties. Analgesic, skin-repairing and anti-inflammatory, the waters offer a range of health benefits. Located just 13km from the spa resort, L’Abri-Côtier is a small, safe, people-friendly site in an unspoilt, landscaped setting and offers spa packages at great prices.

Bike

Here on the Atlantic coast, close to the famous Fort Boyard, Adeline and Laurent organise a weekly guided bike ride to explore the beautiful Fort Lupin. And if you want to take the family a little further afield, you can cycle to the Ile de Madame, see the Passe aux Bœufs causeway and explore the local area thanks to its many cycle paths. Continue as far as the Moëze Oléron Nature Reserve, well worth a visit, before heading back to the heated pool at the campsite. Bikes are available for hire at the campsite, holder of France’s “Accueil vélo” status for its cycle-friendly facilities since 2015.

It was all very well, very friendly and nice stuff, tasty pizza. A little more space to neighbours would be nice, and we missed mosquito net at windows in mobilehomes.
