Well worth a visit Nearby Camping Ser Sirant Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

Book a guided tour to discover the world of "black mouths" at the Mine Image Museum in La Motte-d'Aveillans. This place aims to share the stories of the courageous men who worked underground. It is set on an authentic old mining site and allows you to explore the underground galleries of an old anthracite shaft. A visit will take approximately 1 hr and 30 minutes.

Something different

Find adorable marmots at Alpe du Grand Serre. This hiking trail, known as the gate of Serriou, has an observation spot along the way where you can admire the marmots. If you don’t want to walk too far, you can take the Blache chairlift. Before returning to the Roizonne Valley, continue your day of discovery by stopping at the Grand Rif farm. Here you can learn about the important work of breeders and their animals.

Walking/cycling route

From the campsite, head in the direction of the Col des Creys. You’ll pass by the Berlioux farm, where you can indulge in organic cow and goat cheeses made and sold by Aurélie. Follow the crest to the Pierre Perçée, one of the wonders of the Dauphiné. The site offers one of the most beautiful panoramas across the massifs. You will see the Obiou at a height of 2790 m. The Sénépi is smaller, but it is the largest pasture in Europe. To descend, choose the option that you prefer. You can go through Pierre-Châtel to explore the lakes or through the picturesque villages of the Pays de Vaulx.

Driving route

Take your car and head towards the Col de Parquetout. It is one of the steepest slopes in the region (14%) after the Valbonnais. Before descending into Beaumont to visit the farm and pottery workshop in Sainte-Luce, admire the view. Then take the mythical Route Napoléon and taste the famous Salettina liquor in Corps.
