What to do while on holiday in the Médoc?

Between the Landes forest, the Bay of Arcachon and the Pointe de Grave, the Médoc is an ideal destination for nature lovers and is famous for its renowned vineyards. With its beaches on the Atlantic coast, its hills on the estuary hillsides and its large inland lakes, the Médoc's landscapes are extremely varied. The nature reserves can be explored on foot, on horseback or by bike: this is the perfect spot if you want to lose yourself in the wide-open spaces of the great outdoors.

The Médoc peninsula stretches between two waters: the Atlantic Ocean and the Gironde. It is a lush and varied landscape of forests, marshes, lakes, ponds and vineyards. Explore it for yourself by following the hiking trails, and enjoy a wide variety of nature activities: horse riding, canoeing, hill-walking, mountain biking, golf and much more.

On the ocean side, the Médoc is a magnet for surfers. There are plenty of famous spots and numerous surf schools where you can learn to ride the waves. Every year, Lacanau hosts an international championship: an incredible spectacle that you won't want to miss if you're a surfing fan on holiday in the Médoc.

Stay at a campsite by the lake, camp in the middle of the vineyards or set up your base near the beaches. There's a whole host of leisure facilities to help you relax back at your own campsite!
