From the bay of Mont Saint-Michel to Saint-Nazaire, the GR34 is an epic hiking trail that follows the entire coastline of Brittany. This is the ideal path to learn more about Brittany, with its captivating maritime history, impressive monuments and natural landscapes. The GR34 is considered to be one of the most beautiful hikes in France.
The GR34 route is a long-distance hike, also known as a trek. A determined few have completed the entire route, which spans a whopping 1,700km and crosses several different French departments, taking more than two months to complete. Many others follow shorter stages.
By doing the GR34, you will pass through Manche (50), Ille-et-Vilaine (35), Côtes d'Armor (22), Finistère (29), Morbihan (56) and Loire-Atlantic (44). Start by discovering the Emerald Coast, travelling through Saint-Malo and Cap Fréhel, and then admire the unique landscapes of the Pink Granite Coast. Once in Finistère, you'll be facing the vast blue expanse of the Atlantic Ocean as you travel along the Pointe Saint-Mathieu, the Crozon peninsula and Pointe du Raz. Finally, you can head towards the Quiberon peninsula, the Gulf of Morbihan, and the tip of Croisic.
As you follow the trail, you'll be able to recharge your batteries at the campsites along the coast. Indeed, you will find many Flower Campings campsites ready to welcome you to the GR34 route. Choose the accommodation that suits you. You can rent a mobile home, chalet or canvas bungalow. In some campsites near the GR34, there are also special hiker packages for pitches, small bivouac tents for hikers and "ready to camp" tent rentals, which include everything you need to camp on their pitch. These types of accommodations are particularly suitable for short stays and are available at budget-friendly prices in all seasons.
