Set in the heart of the Vendée countryside, the site offers a peaceful holiday setting close to the Apremont outdoor activity centre on the River Vie. The perfect place to sit back and relax, to go swimming and fishing, enjoy a bike ride or a pedalo outing or simply lie in the sun by the pool. The location makes it an ideal for exploring Vendée. Try a day out with the kids at the Grand Défi nature park, Commequiers “vélo-rail”, O’Gliss water world or, of course, the unmissable Puy du Fou theme park. The Atlantic coast also has much to recommend it, with fine, sandy beaches, dunes, woodland and picturesque Vendée ports at Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, Bretignolles-sur-Mer and on the Île d'Yeu.

A trip to the Grand Défi nature park just 15km from the site, where the activities on offer include a woodland adventure course, zip wires, paintballing, outdoor laser tag, orienteering and pony trekking. A visit to the Commequiers “vélo-rail”, where you can enjoy the lovely Vendée countryside as you pedal along a disused railway line on a modern-day dandy horse. A day at the amazing O’Gliss water park with its thrilling slides, flumes, river rapids rides and wave pools.

Walking/cycling route
A bike ride to Apremont via the Sentier du Verger. Start with the magnificent fortified Château d’Apremont and its summer shows, then head off to the outdoor activity centre on the shores of the Lac d’Apremont and the River Vie, stopping off for a quick swim from its sandy beach or a tour of the lake in a pedalo.
Driving route
A visit to the Ile de Noirmoutier, crossing the Passage du Gois causeway at low tide and heading out to the beach for a spot of gleaning. Later, make your way to the fishing port at Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie for a seafood platter at one of the many restaurants before heading back to the campsite.
