Set in the heart of the UNESCO Haute Provence Geopark, this small but spacious site offers a warm, family-friendly welcome in lovely, natural surrounding. There’s plenty to do on site with the heated pool and water slide, and a river. If you’re looking for a challenge, the nearby Massif des Monges is great for walking and mountain biking or you can go canyoning and try out the via ferrata at the waterfalls just 15 min. from the site. Whatever you do, don’t miss Sisteron and its citadel (20 min.), the Massif des Monges (15 min.), the Lac de Serre-Ponçon (40 min.) and the UNESCO Haute Provence Geopark.
Walking/cycling route
Try real foodies’ bike ride setting off from the campsite. Head out to Forest-Lacour and visit the GAEC du Sasse saffron farm, Bayons to sample the Produits de l'Adoux: essential oils, plant cordials, jams and preserves. Then make your way up the Tourniquets de Bayons (a twisting, turning road that rises 284m) to the Col des Sagnes (sheep farm), then Turriers with its homemade charcuterie, Le Caire (Chalet de la Ruche, local produce for sale) and finally La Motte du Caire. The return to Clamensane completes this 42km round trip.
Driving route
To make the most of the location between the Alps and Provence by car, drive north to the Lac de Serre-Ponçon with its dam and water sports activities or head south, taking in Sisteron and its citadel, stopping off in a few typical Provencal villages en route to the Valensole plateau for a swim in the Lac de Sainte Croix.
