Walking/cycling route
A cycle ride along the Canal du Midi leaving from the Round Lock in Agde towards Béziers, the Fonserade locks and the lovely vineyards of the Languedoc. Or towards Marseillan with a stop at the Port des Mazets oyster farm on the Etang de Thau.
Driving route
Head out to Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert, a small medieval village on the Way of St James now classed among the “Plus Beaux Villages de France”. Don’t miss the Abbaye de Gellone, a fine example of Languedoc Romanesque art and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Continue towards Aniane and cross the Devil’s Bridge, thought to be one of the oldest medieval bridges in France, which marks the start of the famous Hérault gorges.
