Something different
A trip with friends or family on the Cyclorail - a sort of bicycle-operated variation on the old railway handcar - along a restored railway line. Starts in Cosne-sur-Loire (12 km).
Don’t miss
The pearl of the Sancerre area is undoubtedly the capital itself, Sancerre; a beautiful village built on a rocky outcrop surrounded by vineyards. The town is home to its now world-famous wine... The whites, of course, but also reds and rosés....
Walking/cycling route
Follow "Ariane's" thread in the village of Sancerre; it will lead you through the different historic districts of winemakers, bakers etc, as well as 15th century buildings, and the many art galleries. From St. Satur, beautiful cycle tracks run along- side the Loire to Couargues, the end of the route. A connecting path takes you to Pouilly- sur-Loire on the opposite bank.

From the wine-cellars of Sancerre to the cheese dairies of Chavignol, taking in a gourmet stop in Pouilly-sur-Loire!
