Set in the heart of the Loire valley amid 11 acres of parkland and bordered on either side by the river Loire, the campsite makes a great base for exploring the surrounding area. Just 15 minutes’ walk from the historic centre of Saumur with its rich, year-round programme of cultural and artistic events, you’re also ideally placed to visit the château, one of the most emblematic in the Loire valley, or marvel at the riders of the famous Cadre Noir.

Bike

At the Ile d’Offard on the banks of the River Loire you’ll find the campsite's staff ready to help you make the most of your holiday with a tour of the AOC Coteaux de Saumur vineyards and some great bike rides. A 24km cycle route (leaving from close to the Tourist Office just five minutes from the site) will take you through the magnificent countryside of the Hameau de Samoussais. The campsite also provides a secure room for storing bicycles and accommodation suitable for cycle tourists (Camp'étoile). It has been an “Accueil Vélo” campsite since 2016.

Wine route

To fully understand the nuances of the local wine, Saumur-Champigny, you need to understand the land which produces it and the history and culture of the local winegrowing industry . The local tourist office runs 2-hour guided tours of the Saumur-Champigny wine-growing area with a guide accredited by the wine growers themselves. Every tour culminates at one of the many local producers with a chance to taste the local wines.

Wellness centre

Located close to the gardens at Villandry and the Château de Saumur, the Ile d’Offard’s wellness centre makes a great place to relax and get away from it all. Combine rest and physical activity with our range of facilities including a hammam, jacuzzi and sauna. If you find it hard to choose between exploring the cultural heritage of the Loire and the chance to sit back and relax, here at the Ile d’Offard Bernard offers the best of both worlds!

Excellent site, fantastic location, great amenities, the spa was amazing. Just a minor point there was a pallet by the Bourne which made accessing the Bourne difficult for larger units
