Set between the Vézère and Dordogne rivers, the Causse Corrézien brings together the limestone plateaus of the Quercy, the gentle, rolling hillsides of the Dordogne and the stunning green landscape of Corrèze. A paradise for water sports enthusiasts, the nearby activity centre offers sailing, rowing, kayaking, paddle boarding and water skiing as well as pedalo hire. Gentler souls may prefer the 250km of trails that criss-cross the area – ideal for walking, cycling and horse riding. Close by you will also find the lovely villages of Turenne and Collonges-la-Rouge.

Watersport

Located at the gateway to the Limousin region, Le Lac du Causse makes an ideal base for trying the outdoor activities on offer on the Causse Corrézien with family or friends. A paradise for water sports enthusiasts, the leisure park offers a range of different activities with something for every taste and every level. So whether you’re an old hand or a beginner, come and taste the pleasures of sailing, paddle boarding, rowing, kayaking, water skiing – or simply a gentle pedalo ride – on the Lac du Causse.

Fiets

A cycle ride (2 to 3 hours) along the quiet lanes that criss-cross the hills above the Lac de Causse. It is the ideal way to explore the wooded hills, shaped by the Lissac and Meyssac faults, which offer excellent views over the lake and surrounding valleys and the lovely local villages.

Plus Beaux Villages de France

Leaving from the Lac du Causse, take a tour by car or motorbike of three of the Plus Beaux Villages de France, Turenne, Collonges-la-Rouge and Curemonte, stopping each time to stroll along their narrow alleyways.

Brive

Celebrated in song by French musical legend Georges Brassens, Brive market attracts many local producers and their wares and provides the ideal opportunity to explore the charming historical centre of the town.

Vissen

Located between the Vézère and Dordogne rivers, Le Lac de Causse occupies an ideal position on the Causse Corrézien surrounded by an unspoilt landscape of hills, lakes and greenery. Quiet and peaceful, it is the ideal place for a spot of gentle fishing. Just sit back on the banks of the lake and enjoy the local countryside and the various species of fish which occupy it.

Camping Lac du Causse, is a 'Refuge LPO', a haven for birds and wildlife. For Pascal, a sustainable approach to tourism is essential.

Their free summer activities are all about nature, with visits to a nearby farm and finding out about wildlife that lives in the water.
The campsite's grocery shop promotes local, artisan products.
Next to reception, an eco-wall lists all the environmentally-friendly things you can do on holiday.
And of course, measures to limit the footprint (waste sorting, LED or solar lighting, water-saving devices, etc.) are in place.
