Camping La Plage - A beach in the woods in the heart of the Corrèze

Close to the campsite, the 250 acre Lac des Barriousses offers a sandy beach directly accessible from the campsite, clear blue water ideal for swimming, and pedalo and canoe hire. A little further afield, the Plateau de Millevaches, in Limousin is a wild upland area of heath and forest, criss-crossed by a myriad rivers and streams. This nature conservation area is best explored on foot, sampling the wild apples, blueberries and walnuts as you go.

Fishing

Set between a lake and a river, La Plage offers all the peace and quiet you need for a relaxing fishing holiday as well as being located close to a fine sandy beach. The ideal base for exploring the wild moorlands of Corèze, real fishing fans can be sure of a great welcome here at La Plage which was awarded French “Hébergement pêche” status in 2016 in recognition of its fishing-friendly facilities. What more could you want?

Clédat

The deserted village of Clédat is built on a rocky outcrop and the surrounding forest gives it a mysterious atmosphere. The enigmatic sites of Vézère Monedières including the legendary Rocher des Folles and the 919 m high Puy de la Monedière (10 km).

Gorges of the Vézère

Visit of the gorges of the Vézère. The starting point is at the hydro-electric plant in Chingeat and the finishing point is at the old port in Treignac, going via the fishermen’s path. Duration of the tour: 3hrs.

Kano-kayak

La Plage and its 800m² water park make the ideal destination for a fun-filled, activity-packed family holiday! Why not rent a canoe and set off towards the furthest shores of the lake with family or friends? Or explore the magnificent Corrèze countryside from one of its long-distance walking routes?
